The Repair Shop

In 2023, I was invited to appear on BBC TV's The Repair Shop as a contestant. This was great fun and I got to talk about my own background playing pan with my dad. The kind folks at The Repair Shop set about restoring a pan that had been made in Trinidad in 1976 by a famous pan tuner called Lincoln Noel that had been sadly neglected over the years. They really did an incredible job with the instrument and not only restored it to it's former glory but turned it into quite a beautiful looking instrument. They even made me an incredible pan strap for when I am required to play on the move.  I was then joined by the members of my jazz quartet and we played a jazz-infused version of Jingle Bells, live on the show. All in all, this was a very memorable chapter in my own musical journey. If you haven't yet seen the show, you can find it on the BBC iPlayer here:
